Firewood Delivery to Ventura — Locally Sourced, Free Delivery, Personal Service
Ventura is one of those places where the weather keeps you guessing. You get a warm afternoon in February and then a cold front rolls in off the Pacific and suddenly you're reaching for a sweater at seven o'clock. Those beach-town evenings have a chill to them that people from other parts of the country don't always expect. If you've got a fireplace or a backyard fire pit, you know exactly how useful a good stack of wood becomes from October through March.
In this post:
I'm Kyle Campbell, and I've been delivering firewood across Ventura County for over 25 years. Ventura is home turf. I know the neighborhoods, I know the roads, and I know what kind of wood works in a coastal fireplace where the air runs humid. If you want real firewood — not hardware store bags — this is how we do it.
Why Locally Sourced Firewood Matters
Most firewood sold at gas stations and hardware stores comes from somewhere else entirely. It travels hundreds of miles to get to a shelf, gets sealed in plastic bags that trap moisture, and arrives with no accountability for what species it actually is or how dry it really is.
At Firewood Guys, the wood we deliver came from within 25 miles of where you live. We source everything from the Santa Monica Mountains, Los Padres National Forest, local arborists, ranches, and homeowners who've had trees removed. When you order from us, you know exactly where your wood came from.
That matters more than people realize. Locally sourced firewood is better seasoned, legally compliant with California's rules about moving firewood across regions to prevent invasive pests like the spotted lanternfly and emerald ash borer, and higher quality because you know the species and the source. When you buy local, your money stays in Ventura County.
Wood Species Available for Ventura Delivery
Here's what we carry for Ventura customers:
Red Oak and White Oak — The standard-bearer. Oak burns long and hot, holds a coal bed through the night, and is what most Ventura County fireplace owners reach for. Starting at $144 per 1/8 cord, tax included.
Avocado Firewood — Southern California's own hardwood. Dense, clean-burning, with a pleasant mild aroma. Great for outdoor fire pits and backyard gatherings. From $112.50.
Eucalyptus Hardwood — Burns hotter than most species and lasts a long time in the fireplace when properly seasoned. A smart pick if you're using wood for heat, not just ambiance. From $112.50.
Hardwood/Softwood Mixed — An easy all-around option that catches fast and burns well for casual fires. From $94.50.
Camping Firewood (Mixed) — Perfect for beach bonfires, backyard fire pits, or a weekend at Lake Casitas. From $94.50.
Premium BBQ Blend — If you're running a wood-fired grill or smoker, this is built for cooking. Clean smoke, consistent heat, no filler softwood. From $157.50.
Cord sizes run from a 1/8 cord (16 cubic feet) up to a full cord (128 cubic feet) for customers who want to stock up for the entire season. Free delivery in most areas we service — some locations may have a small delivery fee shown at checkout.
Kyle's Story: 25 Years, One Truck, Every Order Personal
I started delivering firewood in Ventura County more than 25 years ago, inspired in part by Dustin Walker, a former employer who ran a firewood business before he passed. I built Firewood Guys as a direct-from-source operation, cutting out the retail middlemen entirely.
Every order that goes out has been handled by me personally — from the tree, through the splitter, onto the truck, and into your driveway. There's no warehouse, no staff, no phone queue. When you text me, I text you back. When your wood shows up, it's the wood I cut. That's not a marketing angle. It's just how a one-man operation works.
